Michael Tomasone

• Company Role: Chief Quality Inspector and Problem Solver. My business card is titled President/Owner.

• How long have you been with SWC: 20 years. Worked in the field since I was 15 throughout high-school and college; serving as President for the past 10 years.

• What do you do at SWC?

  • Steer the ship and mentor team members. I oversee the complete operation of the company – from finance to field operations – and everything in between.

  • My main objective to ensure that every customer receives high-quality service and complete customer satisfaction for each job, every time.

  • I am also one of our senior estimators – helping to ensure every job will meet our high-quality standards.

• What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position?

  • Ground up education; worked in the field as a teenager and young adult. Trained under my father for many years before I ultimately purchased the business from him. I’m now the main proprietor – operating the overall company and leading our 45 full-time team members.

  • Attended the University of Dayton where I received a Bachelor’s degree in business [Operations Management and Entrepreneurship].

• What do you like about working at SWC? Spending time in the field; delivering high-quality results for our customer. Quality control - everyone in our company is quality control. This is how we consistently deliver high-quality service for our customers and their properties. Our customers know us for our consistent, reliable, on-time and on-budget results.

• What do you like about working in commercial property restoration?

  • I am passionate about restoring buildings. I love repairing and fixing buildings – adding new life into them, extending their longevity, restoring their original beauty – allowing future generations to continue to enjoy them.

  • I enjoy solving complex building issues – ensuring we solve the root cause of the problem while staying within the customer’s financial budget or time-constraint.

• What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Exercising, I love my Peloton when I cannot ride my bicycle outside. Skiing in the winter and boating in the summer. Most importantly I enjoy spending time with my growing family.

Steven A. Tomasone

• Company Role: Director of Operations

• How long have you been with SWC: 35 years with the company

• What do you do at SWC? Oversea estimating help with field and sales staff. Help with day to day Operations.

• What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position? 50 years in the field, I learned the restoration business from my father.

• What do you like about working at SWC? I like the opportunity of fixing and renovating an old commercial building.

• What do you like about working in commercial property restoration? Self-satisfaction of bringing a old building back to new and teaching our younger staff the knowledge I have learned throughout the years.

• What are the values that drive you? Watching all my coworkers helping to grow the business each year.

• What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Jet skis and water sports. I enjoy getting prepared for the next week’s challenge at SWC.

Kyle Gedeon

• Company Role: Roofing Manager and Managing Partner of SWC

• How long have you been with SWC: I have been with Southwest Companies for 16 years! I started working in the field when I was 18 years old. As time went on, I was offered a promotion as a project manager and have since moved up in the company.

• What do you do at SWC?

  • I manage and oversee the entire flat roofing division of Southwest Companies. We perform flat roof repairs and install new roofs.

  • I start with meeting the customer and going over their needs. I then take my field measurements and provide a free roof evaluation and estimate. I then manage the roof job from start to finish.

  • I also help the president Michael Tomasone managing the rest of the business in every capacity.

• What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position?

  • I started working in the field at a young age. I have learned a lot from former President Steve Tomasone and Current President Mike Tomasone

  • I have attended multiple roof training seminars put on by the roofing material manufacturers

  • Attended the University of Toledo where I received a Bachelor’s degree in criminal justice. I then went to law school at Western Michigan University Thomas M. Cooley Law School. I am currently an active member of the Ohio State Bar Association.

• What do you like about working at SWC?

  • I enjoy the freedom they offer of being accountable for your own actions and work performance

  • I like all the people I work with and have been working with some of the same people for over 15 years

  • I enjoy meeting all the Ohio business and building owners. I take pleasure in helping them solve their building problems.

  • It is a pleasure dealing with the same customers for long periods of time, building trust and generating a genuine professional relationship.

John DiPasquale

Al Morelli

• What do you do at SWC? At SWC I am responsible for new customer acquisition, customer relationships, and managing customer's expectations. I oversee projects, setting deadlines and budgets, obtaining appropriate materials, and managing employees.

  • I worked in sales for both Alert Fire Equipment and Motorola for 20+ years before my time at SWC. In my 50+ years of work I have obtained the credentials of:

    • Understanding construction basics

    • Product knowledge

• What do you like about working at SWC? At SWC we are family and work as team.

• What do you like about working in commercial property restoration? To me working in the construction industry is fulfilling. I like seeing projects from start to finish and using the knowledge I have gained over the last 35 years at SWC to help others find solutions. I also like building long-lasting relationships with my customers.

Robert Roginsky

Ron Greenfield

• What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position? I have a large customer service background also help in sales with past companies.

• What do you like about working at SWC? Diversity, Hard workers, Family and how everybody at the end of the day is working together to accomplish one goal. Making Southwest an Elite Company and to be the #1 Commercial Restoration provider in Northeast Ohio.

• What do you like about working in commercial property restoration? The flexibility, the Rush! Everything about the grind is what drives you to get up every day and push to the next level.

• What are the values that drive you? Everything I just said on the last question. Work hard to get where you want to be, living the Cleveland way.  Also my Family is what drives me. My Daughter, to give her the best life and opportunities.

• What do you enjoy doing when you are not working? Relaxing, 18 holes of golf, traveling with the family to warm climates and just enjoy time on the beach.

Krista Hanhauser

• What do you do at SWC? Bookkeeping, creating new protocols and procedures, working hand in hand with the salesmen to reach company goals

• What are your credentials/past experience, for working in your position? Secretarial Work, Retail Store Manager

• What do you like about working at SWC? First and foremost, being given the opportunity to work in my position with no background in the construction industry or bookkeeping. I love that my job challenges me every day in different ways. I am encouraged to further my education so I can be the best at what I do.
